about

A friend of mine commented that this song had a 'cat-like' quality to it. I agreed, commenting that it felt sly, or sneaky. I did some research on cats and found that during the middle ages, there were a lot of negative superstitions regarding cats. As such, there was a mass killing of cats all across Europe. Less cats, led to more rats. Rats, then, helped to spread the Black Plague, wiping out a lot of the population in Europe. All of this comes back to the point you see, because the working title for this song was, "If You Kill Cats You Start The Black Plague".

...Thank goodness Emery was around to give yet another one of my songs a proper title.
